About the session

It is predicted that by 2030 the growth in global population and the impacts of climate change will increase food production needs by 50%, energy demand by 45% and water demand by 30%. As part of the global food supply chain, the UK will be affected by climate change and this consequently makes food security very important. In recent years, progress has been made in the reduction of energy consumption and energy consumption from the food chain in response to government initiatives and legislation, rising fuel prices and the desire of many companies to improve social and environmental performance.
